Insides

2005

My first series is called Insides. On the one hand it includes paintings featuring the interior of computer, on the other hand it’s about flesh, that is the inside of an animal body. The flesh is represented in the same manner as the hardware. It's powerful and rather brutal. What they have in common is that the computer chips are absolutely dead and the flesh was once living and then dead as well. I try to compose paintings so that they most closely render how the human eye sees reality. The objects are impersonal and dead per se, they have neither inner ego, nor inner energy. The energy reveal itself only after it’s been seen by eyes and reexamined by mind. At this very moment I am able to spill out all my visions on the canvas. It’s painting (and not photography for example) that has the best stuff for that.
